WAAR IS GOD?
DANIEL 3:16-18
16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego answered the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to answer you on this point. 17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. 18 But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up!”
DANIEL 3:24,25
24 “Did we not throw three men who were tied up into the midst of the fire?” They replied to the king, “Certainly, O king.” 25 He answered, “Look! I see four men untied, walking around in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt! And the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!”
GEDAGTES UIT DANIEL 3:
- God het besluit om Shadrach, Meshach, en Abednegonie van die oond te red nie, maar in die oond te versterk.
- Soms kies God om ons NIE VAN die omstandigheid/uitdaging (siekte) te red nie, maar om ons IN die omstandighede te versterk.
HEB 13:5
… for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”
DEFINISIE VAN VREDE
“Vrede” in die Nuwe Testament beteken “Saam verbind of geweef” te wees.
Vrede (Shalom) is ‘n geskenk van God, ’n posisie wat jy in neem, sowel as ’n uitkyk wat jy kies a.g.v. die resultaat van die versoenings werk wat plaas gevind het aan die kruis. Jesus het versoening gebring sodat jy kan VREDE hê in alle omstandighede.
HERSTEL IN VERHOUDING BRING VREDE
- Skeiding van God a.g.v. sonde
- God se verlossings plan deur Jesus herstel verhouding
- Toegang tot VREDE in die Heilige Gees
Vrede deur Jesus:
Joh 14:6
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”
Rom. 5:1
Therefore, since we have been justified (vrygespreek) [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).
Jesaja 32:17
And the effect of righteousness (geregverdig) will be peace (vrede),
And the result of righteousness will be quietness (rus) and confident trust (sekerheid) forever.
Vrede in die Heilige Gees:
Rom. 14:17
17 for the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking [what one likes], but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
*Vrede is “in” die Heilige Gees en die Heilige Gees is “in” ons.

WAT EK KAN DOEN
1.1. ERKEN
- Erken dat ons soms bang en benoud is, gefrustreerd en dalk kwaad en soms moedeloos is.
- Erken dat ons God nodig het.
1.2. ONTHOU
- Onthou dat God vir ons omgee
1 Peter 5:7
…casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].
- Onthou dat Jesus vir jou vrede wil gee
Matthew 11:28-29
28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls.

Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God (deel van HERKEN). 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
1.3. FOKUS
- Fokus op God en die Waarheid en die Woord.
- Moet nie op die wêreld en die omstandighede en toestand waarin jy jou bevind fokus nie.
Isa. 26:3a
“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character]…
1.4. VERTROU
Isaiah 26:3b
Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].
“Trust [confidently] in the Lord forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].
Ps. 9:10
And those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You,
For You, O Lord, have not abandoned those who seek You.

Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. Commit your way to the Lord; Trust in Him also and He will do it.

2.1. God KALMEER die storm
Ps 107:29
He calms the storm, so that its waves are still.
He hushed the storm to a gentle whisper,
So that the waves of the sea were still.
2.2. God WERK IN JOU
- God werk aan ons karrakter
- God suiwer ons geloof
1 Pet. 1:7
7 so that the genuineness of your faith, which is much more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested and purified by fire, may be found to result in [your] praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
2.3. God WERK DEUR JOU
Wanneer ons in VREDE stap wys dit op en getuig dit van:
- God se verlossing
- God se genade
- God se voorsiening
- Verhouding met die Prins van Vrede (Jesus)
TEN SLOTTE
Moeilike omstandighede en uitdagings “gaan” op ons pad kom. Soms gaan ons nie van die vuur gered word nie. MAAR… God sal ons nie verlaat nie en sal by ons in die oond wees en ons versterk.
John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; BUT be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
Matthew 28:20
I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”
