Preek/ Boodskap oor: It Is Time To Rise

Patriotism – the love of your land of birth, as seen all over during this time of the rugby world cup in France. The Springboks made us say: I am proudly South African.

Phil 3:20 (Afr20) – For our citizenship (burgerskap) is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Heb 11:13, 16 (Afr53) – 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off [a]were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

For those born again, who chose Jesus Christus as Lord, a change of citizenship has taken place.

  • Being a child of God has more weight than being South African.
  • We will allways love being South African, nothing wrong with being patriotic.
  • Being a citizen of heaven has more weight than being a South African citizen.
  • Being a cross bearer is supposed to be more important than being a flag bearer.
  • Be law abiding, please!! But allegiance to the King of glory comes before earthly kings.

So my question to you: Are you a heavenly citizen first? (as greater importance than being South African)

  • Col 3:2 – Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Gideon – see Judges chapter 6

For 7 years Israel is suffering at the hand of the Midianites.

  • Chapter 6 – a very sceptical Gideon – “If God is with us, why all these bad things? Where are His miracles? The Lord has forsaken us.”

Gideon describing his earthly family: My tribe the least, my family the poorest and myself the least significant in my family.

But God sees something else: ‘Mighty man of valor ‘ (Dapper held) – God overwrites the heavenly reality over Gideon’s earthly reality. – Praise God!!!

Does this sound familiar?: ‘I am South African. My culture group the least of all, government is against us. There is no hope for our children in this country.’

  • What do you think God is saying?
  • Col 3:1-2 (Afr53) – Come on faith family – seek the things from above, not earthly things. Set your mind on the things from above!!!

Die bediening van versoening / The ministry of reconciliation

2 Cor 5:18-20 (NKJV) – Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

  • As heavenly citicens, The Lord has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
  • God is speaking to the world through His ambassadors: “Be reconciled to Christ”.
  • Mat 5:23-24 – if you bring your gift to the altar and remember… leave your gift at the altar and go to be reconciled to your brother, then come back…

I am seriously asking you today: Are you a heavenly citizen first? Do you understand that you are Christs Ambassador on earth? How are you representing Him? Do you carry the ministry of reconciliation? Are you a voice that is helping people to be reconciled with Jesus Christ and with each other?

Unrighteousness abounds in RSA, our government is failing us, church (body of believers) not having the impact it should have.

  • About 80% of South Africa confess themselves to be Christian.
  • 80% of South Africans are supposed to understand that they are heavenly citizens and ambassadors for Christ.
  • The body of Christ is not having its impact. On Christians watch, this country is in a mess.

Time2Rise was started and is lead by the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is connecting and uniting His people accross the country to bring radical change to South Africa from the ground level upwards.

  • The 3 vision bearers – black man, white man, colored man
  • 300 in Bloemfontein
  • 3000 in Bloemfontein
  • Not a political party!!

Holy Spirit – connecting the dots

Do you know that there are other similar “Salt & Light” projects in other towns and cities in RSA?

Yes, many!! Heavenly citizens doing amasing things in their communities.

Time2Rise is a body that is connecting these people (linking dots map) and projects and inspiring heavenly citizens to be a voice of hope in South Africa. To stop the negative talk and to take action.

  • It is organic, Spirit lead linking up of the body of Christ.
  • To be Salt & Light where they are.
